Sunmaid V at Blyth

Sunmaid V is a Sparkman and Stephens One Ton Cup design. She was built of mahogany by the Clare Lallow yard of Cowes and launched in 1967. The dimensions are LOA 36′-11″, LWL 26′-8″, beam 10′-2″, draft 6′-3″, and sail area 530 sq ft.

She was brought onto the RNYC register by the McIntyre twins, Bill and Doug (pictured with regular crewman Mike Smith) and campaigned on the North East racing scene until the twins’ deaths in 2007.

Sunmaid V is a beautiful and elegant yacht and a joy to sail. She was sold out of the Club in 2013.
