1st April: Terry Took – The Ups and Downs of a North Sea Pilot

The final 1st Wednesday Talk of this winter will be from Terry Took, who will speak about his time as a North Sea Pilot. Terry arrived on Tyneside from Yorkshire over 50 years ago, and has spent 45 years in the Merchant Navy, the last 27 years as a Pilot.
He has worked from North Cape to Gibraltar, including all around the British Isles, and is now an elder of Trinity House.
Terry has collected a war chest of amusing anecdotes about pilots, and pirates, and all things nautical from his days at sea, and this should be a great way to end the serious business of winter warmers, and launch us into the fun of the sailing season ahead.

Wednesday 1st April 7.30 pm: Come down early for a hot snack of steak pie & peasĀ from 7.00 pm

See you there,
Peter Lowrie
