EGM (Update)

The EGM to discuss the issues of RNYC becoming a Company limited by guarantee, and also the potential submission of a Heritage Lottery Fund bid to undertake restoration work on our Club Ship HY Tyne, took place last night (Thursday 9th May)
A packed Club Ship was subjected to presentations by Mike Wade, Dave Morgan and myself before the various matters were put to the vote.
I am pleased to report that the voting, which was almost unanimous in agreement for all resolutions, means we will be instructing our solicitors to progress the formation of the Company limited by guarantee and will be seeking consultants to assist in the submission of our Heritage Lottery Fund bid.
Mike and I, on behalf of the Flag officers and General Committee, would like to thank all those of you who attended for doing so and showing such an interest in the major steps the Club is taking.
We take great heart from the level of approval the resolutions received, and look forward to your continued support in what I‘m sure will be exciting times in the future.
One of the huge short term benefits of the result, is that we are now able to return to the table with Port of Blyth and negotiate a lengthy lease that will secure our tenure for many years to come in what is anticipated to be a rapidly expanding commercial port environment.
