Storrar Movember Race

Last year we ran a Mo winter series race at St Peters (was all done in a hurry, as usual) we would like to think it was a success with the majority of participating yachts/skipper & crew entering into the spirit. As a result of monies raised from this event & various other donations Storrar Mo’rine managed to raise almost £1000-00 for the Movember cause.
Sunday the 24th of November winter series race at RNYC has now (with kind permission of the Commodore & Sailing Sec) been designated a Mo Race. There are loads of excellent prizes up for grabs, including a Spinlock Lifejacket, Orca Bay deck shoes, Gul & Gill goodies, Booze etc, if you enter into the spirit of the day.
Rules of the day see below.

You may have read about the Movember appeal? If not log onto http://uk.movember.com and read how the charity during November is raising funds to help research into prostate and testicular cancers. To support this cause Rob, Andy and the rest of the male staff (see their team site http://uk.movember.com/team/990741) have committed themselves to grow moustaches during Movember and hopefully with your help raise even more money for the appeal.

Rules are:

As a condition of entering the Movember Charity appeal, your team/crew must donate £10-00/20-00 or hopefully more per boat to our Movember Appeal.

Each crew member, be it male or female, must sport, for at least the duration of the race, a moustache NB not a beard. They can be grown (not much time left), stuck on, painted or tattooed on!

Prize to be awarded for best TEAM of moustachioed sailors….. Other Prize(s)up for grab include best female Mo sailor, best male Mo & a prize for the best MO boat. Race officers/assistants & onlookers donÂ’t be shy turn up with your Mo, be it grown, painted or stuck on, you never know your facial follicle fancy could work to your advantage in the bar afterwards!

We hope you will all enter into the spirit of the day and support this excellent charity
