The Bondicar race was run in a stiffening SW breeze with wind speed gusts up to 32 knots reported by some. Nine keen boats started, some with kites up from the start to make the most of the favourable wind direction. A good line and start sequence from race officer Mark Taylor got the fleet away cleanly. A fast run up to the turning mark at Coquet Island and then a hard slog back to Blyth. Summerwine taking line honours followed by a rather tired crew in the SB3 sports boat Chaotic. They had to work hard to keep the boat upright. Final positions below:
All in all a good turn out. Next week is the last race of the season – Kirby Minx Trophy 14.00hrs start which will be a long legged bay race. See you all on the start line!
