Fred Crowell – Wooden Boat Restoration

Boat builder Fred Crowell has spent a lifetime building and repairing traditional craft. In recent years, working from his boatyard at Wapping Street, South Shields – the last of it’s kind on the North East coast – Fred has worked on the Seaham lifeboat the ‘George Elmy’ and the Northumberland coble ‘Peggy’ among many others. He’ll be sharing with us stories and pictures from some of those restoration projects.
