For the next talk, Alison Lomax of ‘ORCA’ a charity who specialises in protecting whales and dolphins will be talking about our North Sea whales and dolphins, focusing on the behaviour of those in the North East. She will also tell you how to recognise the different species.
With her she will have a range of specimens including teeth and baleen, bones and skulls loaned by the Great North Museum so you can get a feel for these mammals. It's a great way to highlight some of the stranger aspects of their anatomy!
As usual, the talk starts at 8.00pm on board the HY Tyne.
