1st Wednesday Talk 6th November

The next talk on Wednesday 6th November is by Chris Owen.

The evening will be in 2 parts; firstly a talk by Chris on getting the maximum out of our sails. This will be a talk with slides, and 8ft models of sails to demonstrate wind flow.

After a break there will be a video of the Gold Medal British Yngling team at the Beijing Olympics, and ChrisÂ’s part as sail trim coach, and Sailmaker.

This is an evening for all of us who see a boat on the horizon, and find ourselves tweeking the sails to ensure we pass them somehow. It is also for the out and out racers, and keen crew, to pick up those tiny differences to get to that weather mark first. East Coast Week is just around the corner! Please nudge any ‘youth’ in the family, or in your acquaintance to come along; Chris has a long history of Sailmaking and a passion for sail design, and the software associated with it. His job description of ‘Sail Designer’ and his web page titled: sailtrimcoach.com says it all.

Despite wind and rain, the club will be warm and welcoming at 2000, and John will have a hot snack available around 1930.

I look forward to seeing you there,
Peter Lowrie
