Severe Weather Warning

We have received the following weather warning from the Port of Blyth Harbour Master, which in itself is unusual and therefore should not be ignored:

PLEASE NOTE THAT AN AMBER WARNING FOR THE REGION HAS BEEN ISSUED EFFECTIVE FROM 0200HRS THURSDAY FOR WINDS OF 60 -70MPH WITH POSSIBLE GUSTS OF UP TO 90MPH.

THE EA AND THE LRF ARE WARNING OF A PROBABLE TIDAL SURGE DURING TOMORROW PM HIGH TIDE OF OVER 1M ON PREDICTED SPRINGTIDE HIGHTS , WHICH COULD LEAVE US WITH A HW TIDE TOMORROW PM OF OVER 6 METRES.

WE ARE INFORMING ALL VESSELS OF THE PREDICTIONS & WARNINGS.

Please take time to come down and check your lines and ensure they will be capable of withstanding this extreme weather. If your boat is in the yard it will be as well to check the integrity of your trailer or cradle to ensure it will also withstand any buffeting which may occur and that your boat is tied down securely
