Bart’s Bondicar Bash – Sunday 18th September

We use the traditional Bondicar race as a fun event and a fund raiser for the Bart’s foundation in memory of Andrew “Bart” Simpson. The race itself gives participating yachts a distance and time to sail that distance. The Bart’s Team then give us a global ranking for all the boats that have taken part in the event worldwide. They even sort out the handicaps so we just give them the distance and the time for each yacht. Last year Tony Freeth’s Starlight came in the top 100 and all RNYC boats were in the top 25% of global ranking out of something like 7000 boats.

I would like RNYC to embrace this event and for us to raise as much as we can.

Each participant can have an individual “Just Giving” page to make it easy for potential sponsors.

This is the direct link to the Bart’s Bash just giving page for RNYC.

RNYC is registered as a venue and we have the distinction of having the longest course in the global event ie 20.4 miles (I think) as the distance from the start at Blyth to the Bondicar and back.
