The following message was received late last night from the Commodore of Sunderland Yacht Club, Alan Dixon
“I am very sorry to announce that our President Roy Twelves passed away in hospital today after his long struggle with cancer.
Roy has served the Club with great spirit for as many years as I can remember
Roy was well known in all sailing circles and I would be obliged if you would inform your members of this sad news.”
Roy has been a feature of North East Sailing for many years, our condolences go to his family, friends and members of Sunderland Yacht Club
